Double-walled pipes are required for the storage of materials endangering water, e.g. heating oil or diesel. These are constantly monitored for leakproofness by overpressure leak indicators.

A leak in a double-walled pipe is automatically optically and acoustically displayed before a leakage occurs.

A leaky pipe can cause environmental damage and involve high costs.
